I can certainly understand and respect that decision on your part, Sailor. I know my family has been scattered to the 4 winds for many years thanks to members being in the military, etc, so having a centralized place to "gather" even if only virtually, can keep families together and in touch.

I maintain a blog that is solely for my family and certain close friends and there we manage to stay up to date with what is going on with each other. Even my 85 year old mother writes comments on the blog!

I have not thought of adding my blog to my will but I have actually made plans to preserve a static site that I have been running for about two years now. The site in question contains all the genealogical data of my family. The hosting fees have been prepaid for 20 years (hope the hosting company lasts that long) and upon my death a nephew will continue to maintain the information for all the generations to come. This nephew will make similar arrangements and so on and so on. Sounds corny I know, but why bother to collect all the information if it is not going to be preserved for a long time. I find myself in a position where my family is dispersed all over the world. This site is in some cases the only link the family members still have with one another. I think it is worth preserving.

Yes, we have a son and grandchildren in Ohio right on the Ohio river. Thankfully, they are OK at this time, but if the rain doesn't let up, Chris' store might be flooded.

Mr. Pappagiorgio, Well, *they* say that Nadal is the greatest clay court player of all time and that it's just Federer's bad luck to be the best all-surface player at the same time as there is such a fantastic clay court aficionado in the game. Since tennis seems to be a young person's game, it doesn't help that Nadal is younger than Federer.

Basketball is not my game, so I'll leave the aspirations of Celtic vs. Lakers fans to the masses.

Gas pricing is going to be a cross to bear for some time to come. I don't think anything WE do is going to change what they are and what they will be. Either some inventor is going to have to come up with a totally different fuel to power transportation with that cars, trucks and planes can easily be transitioned over to or a previously undiscovered field of it in the free world will have to come to light. For the environment's sake, I hope for the first option, but for my wallet's sake will take either :wry grin:

I heard about the flooding in Wisconsin. I have a few friends staying there and I am quite concerned. I have mailed them but so far no news. I hope that in this case no news is indeed good news. Thanks for a nice roundup of the news this last while.

Just when you think Federer might finally get over the hump at the French open, Nadal thumps him again. I think his inability to beat Nadal in the French is keeping him from being outright considered the best mens tennis player ever.

Celts smacking the Lakers so far, lovely site, I'm sure LA will take game three, and probably four at home. Should be a great 7 finals.

I posted a rant on gas prices earlier too on my blog, so I feel I don't need to rant anymore about it today :p

No matter how goof Nadal is, I really don't like him. Never did. If ever Roger Federer relinquishes his #1 ranking, I hope it would be to NovaK Djokovic.

Kelly - LazyDBA has been a god-send over the past few months. You can search their archives for past stuff. Lots of really smart guys and gals there who are very generous with their time and talents.

No, Oracle DBA's generally look down their noses at SQL DBA's and sometimes it's vice versa as well. The LazyDBA group has both a SQL Server group and an Oracle group so you might be able to sweeten him up a bit by passing on this great resource.

LazyDBA? That's one I haven't heard about. Since it looks like I'm heading for the de facto SQL Server DBA position at our place, I'm sure that will come in handy. (We already have an Oracle DBA. He doesn't play well with others.)

Ha! That's a great one, Kelly! Thanks for the tip -- I'll check out that site. I already do LazyDBA which gives me a lot of good information -- an amazing group of people on that list and was using a forum that I can't remember the name of now, but haven't in some time.

Add a last line to your case statement (i.e., there's something wrong with the data) that says "beat technician with stick." You might want to keep track of the number of times each technician does this so you know if they ought to be beaten about the head and shoulders or if their kneecaps should be targeted.

On a serious note, have you checked out Experts-Exchange.com? I almost always find answers to things that plague me there.

No, no tequila talk :) this theme out of the box has a leaf for the header and the comments were green. I changed the comments to the same color as posts as that was too much green, then made a custom header image to replace the leaf. I love my new eye :P

You don't send EC credits via Email as far as I know -- click the black part of the widget and it will take you to my site profile, then in the upper right corner, there should be a link that says "give credits to this site" -- click that and fill in the blanks.
